Here are just a few of my suggestions: ~Use as many energy-saving appliances as possible. ~Turn off all power strips at night and don't leave your laptop plugged in if you don't need to ~Use reusable totes for all shopping (keep them in your car, so you don't forget :) ~Pick up trash as you walk-by. I will pick up trash that I can see and will either throw it away or recycle it at the nearest recycling container. I ALWAYS recycle anything that can be recycled. ~Don't take unnecessary car trips, and turn off your car when parked (it is not bad for the car to be restarted, it is worse for the car, the environment and your pocket to keep it running, this is from me, who works in the automotive industry). ~Reuse every last speck of every lotion/toothpaste/cosmetics etc. ~Turn off the lights that you don't absolutely need (I have to work on this one) ~Buy as much as possible at second hand shops and donate/sell on eBay clothing ~Fill out those recycling bins and RECYCLE!!!! ~Don't use more than one napkin for each meal eaten out. This goes for all plastic utensils, and don't use a lid/straw for a drink cup, unless absolutely necessary. ~Go out of your way to clean up the surrounding areas of litter and trash; Start with your own property and move on to those around you--parks and nature especially need our help! I am sure I can think of a few more...but I hope these help. I'm far from perfect and have to remind myself daily to heed my suggestions. But, when I do I feel so much better about the Earth, the environment, and myself. Just makes my day :)

I try to repurpose items that may be thrown away everyday. For example, I reuse newspaper to wrap gifts especially around the holiday's. My favorite is to use the crossword puzzle and cartoon sections as book covers.

I became a Vegan and am doing my best to stay away from fast and processed foods. I am slowly changing out my products for Vegan products. Lots of animals can rest assure I do not want to harm them, even for the pleasure of my taste buds. Also, I don't have to worry that I am contributing the the pollution of our air (methane) and soil, nor am I supporting genetically modified foods which are a whole other topic on their own.
