I used to use any kind of body products that smelled nice until i realized my skin is an organ that is absorbing everything i put on it! I found Desert Essence and never looked back. I use the Coconut body wash and lotion daily and always receive compliments on how good i smell. People often ask what kind of wonderful perfum i am wearing and i just tell them its Desert Essence. The lotion is the best because it is fast absorbing and not greasy. I love ever DE item i've tried. I recommend it to everyone and buy it for gifts!

I LOVE desert essence throughly clean face wash! I am usually wary of trying new products but fell in love with the local product (made in California) as well as the natural, vegan ingredients. And it wasn't expensive at all like most other "eco" type products on the market. Its simple, refreshing wash and I feel my skin tingle with the natural antiseptic tea tree oil in the wash. Even my husband uses it, which is shocking. Its super affordable and its comforting knowing that using products that aren't tested on animals or abusing the environment can work well (face is fresh and oil free after using) and are affordable.

I'm a crunchy granola guy with weird, oily skin. Traditional, chemical-laden cleansers and oils adamantly exacerbate my skin's imperfections with unwavering alacrity, thereby leaving my skin in a constant state of "what the fuck!!?" Desert Essence's natural, organic products hit all the right notes -- natural, organic, and kind to the oily-skinned population. Seriously -- if it weren't for Desert Essence, you'd be able to see the sheen of my oil-slicked face reflecting sunbeams into a glaxay far, far away. Going natural is the way to go, in my book. Social responsibility should be a priority amongst companies all over the world. I feel it should be each consumer's duty to buy products from a company that not only gives a damn about the planet, but its customers. Desert Essence understands these principles *in spades*. Natural products not only feel better, they smell better. There's no chemical smell, no feeling of wondering what chemicals are going into your skin or hair. They have an enjoyable fresh-from-nature feel and scent, and work just as well if not better than non-natural products. Natural products put my mind is at ease. By using them, I'm benefiting my body as well as supporting the environment.

I am on a mission to make my beauty routine paraben-free. All of the current speculation of parabens and the long-term affects on health is enough for me to want to try to steer clear of them, especially when it’s fairly easy to do so, thanks to all of the companies currently moving down a similar path. That said, it has taken me ages to find a good face soap and moisturizer that fit this criteria without breaking the bank. I’ve tried many many brands found at drugstores, online and health food stores – and I’ve found that nothing compares to Desert Essence’s Thoroughly Clean Face Wash and the Daily Essential Face Moisturizer. My skin has never been so clear and comfortable (even in the dead of winter when the dry air tends to make my skin feel tight), and my husband is now using both daily, too. I recommend both of these products to anyone looking for an economical and health-conscious skincare routine.

I started getting clean. I changed my diet to whole and natural foods. I purged my closets of the clutter I'd been hanging on to for years. I started buying products in less packaging and making sure I could recycle as much as possible. I gave my spiritual life a boost. Changing to healthy skincare was just a natural extension of all that. It's a choice I feel good about for my body and for the environment. And by supporting natural/organic business, I feel like I'm increasing the demand for products that fit the bill of health, less waste, and environmental responsibility.

My hair looks better since I switched to desert essence shampoo and conditioner. I used to only use things like pantene and herbal essence on my hair, but I was staring to get a very irritated scalp. This is probably due to my very sensitive skin. So I thought, why not switch to a product with better ingredients? I had been using other desert essence products, which I loved, so I thought I would give them a shot with my hair. I have been using the Italian grape shampoo and conditioner, which not only smells great,helps with my color,keeps it clean longer, and continues to make my hair stay shiny, but also makes it look much more healthy. I am so glad I switched because now I am hooked. And now I can't wait to try even more desert essence products!

I switched to natural products simply because they don't do animal testing. This was back in 1996 and I haven't looked back. I just started using the Desert Essence facial cream about two months ago. My face loves it, it just soaks it right up! My skin is incredibly soft and always looks good -- and I have to say, the price is right. Thank you Dessert Essence!

I have thyroid issues and realize all the chemical-laden products for bath and body (or skincare) out there are disrupting hormones even more. For instance, anti-bacterial handsoaps with antibacterial agents can mess with thyroid or other hormones when good, old natural/organic soap can do the job just as well! One of my favorite things to use is 100% jojoba oil, which I use on my skin and hair, scalp, I add it to my shampoo even. It never breaks me out, in fact works great as an eye-makeup remover and skin cleanser. I am also loving your new coconut conditioner as well, this is the first organic type of product that has done wonderful things for my dry hair!

I had never heard of Desert Essence until about a year ago and it was only because I found out that I was allergic to gluten! I completely cut it out of my diet and all of a sudden started to get a really bad build up in my hair- it looked like I but mayo in it and never washed it out. For days I used a clarifying shampoo, but it did nothing- I honestly thought I was going to have to get a pixie cut because it was that bad. Well, roughly a month before this happened my aunt went to a hair show and saw gluten free products and told me all about it. So I thought I'd give it a try because I was so desperate, but not at all thinking gluten would affect my hair. I went to a local health food store and saw the Desert Essence line that was GF. I will NEVER use any other shampoo/conditioner! I absolutely love their hair products- especially the Coconut one. My mom has extremely corse hair and fell in love with it as well and recently my dad started using the Raspberry one because he too liked that it was all natural. I have my own GF website and this is one of my top recommended products =)

Fate. My husband got a job at a natural foods store across from our apartment on a whim. "What kind of a grocery store doesn't have Cokes?" was my response. We knew nothing about natural foods and products. Years later we are a household full of natural, organic, and clean products. My husband has an awesome career at a local co-op and our lives have changed dramatically. My chronic headaches from fragrances were eliminated through the discovery of natural body care and home cleaning products. How many prescription meds did I take to try and solve this problem? I found Desert Essence Lavender Body Lotion and I use it everyday. The fragrance is beautifully feminine and it makes me so happy that I can smell good without sacrificing my health. I could go on and on listing our lives that have been improved..my daughter's eczema, my gluten allergy, etc. but the bottom line is that every day I am thankful for that twist of fate.

Not using natural beauty products is simply not natural in my opinion. Like most women, I never thought twice about what was in my body lotion, shampoo, lipgloss or any of my other "must have" products that were part of my repertoire. Until I did. Last year due mostly to health reasons, I made the decision to go vegan overnight. Once my research led me into the ethical reasons, the impact that we consciously choose to make in our everyday decisions, I realized I would have to change more than just my eating habits. As drastically as I changed my dietary lifestyle, I made the same choice with everything else. Makeup, perfume, lotions, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, you name it. If the ingredients list sounded like a sophisticated science project that I would not be able to complete, it was tossed or given away. Luckily I made all these changes before becoming pregnant with my first child. I am proud to say that I am having an all natural, ecoconscious pregnancy filled with compassionate choices and I intend to raise my child with the same values. With this pregnancy, I discovered Desert Essence's fragrance free lotion. Thanks to baby's aversion to chocolate and other sweet scents, I was determined to find a shea/cocoa butter whose smell would not make me lose my breakfast. Desert Essence to the rescue! It has truly made a huge difference in my day to day routine, no more itchy belly for this mommy to be! I hope that more people decide to realize what it is they're using on their bodies. I've been breastfeeding my son for almost 20 months now. It occurred to me halfway through that most of my skincare products were not paraben-free, SLS-free, and so on. Since that realization, I've switched nearly all of my products to natural or organic products. The hardest part was finding a facial cleanser and daily moisturizer that didn't make my skin break out or feel oily. And then my friend Mandi from Chic Vegan recommended I give DE products a try. I did, and I'll never switch from them. I love the Thoroughly Clean Face Wash and the Daily Essential Facial Moisturizer to death. My skin loves them, too. And I feel safe using them while breastfeeding, knowing that my milk is no longer passing unnecessary chemicals to my son. On that note, I would be thrilled if DE would start a baby product line! :)

I've always loved trying new products and natural products, but never really made them a priority until I had my first son. I just realized how important it is to me to not have anything in my house that says "keep away from children/call poison control" on the label. I now only use natural cleaning products, too. As far as natural beauty products, I was having lots of acne breakouts, and you tea tree bar, when used with a washcloth or clarisonic, has been my skin's best friend! I think I had actually been burning my skin before. Now, I have clean, soft, healthy skin, and don't need moisturizer! And to me (a busy mom of 2), natural products give me a better result while using fewer products, which is priceless!

Going natural has not only improved my life, but it has shaped it to be what it is today. 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with Late Stage Lyme Disease. Treatment for the late stage of the disease is often compared to the nature of cancer, in that the conventional treatment is often more toxic than the disease itself. 2 years into treatment, I developed a condition called Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Treatment had been too toxic and too taxing on my body, so my body itself became toxic and began to reject all common chemicals and fragrances. Fabric softener would make the room spin, my own shampoo would constrict my lungs, and typical body lotion would make me weak in the knees. I couldn't function. I could no longer leave my house because my body was so overburdened by the chemicals that surround us, and I could barely make it through a day in my own home, due to the toxic products we were using on a daily basis. Soon enough I figured it out. On days that I didn't shower with all of my conventional products, and didn't put on any of my chemical laden makeup, I could breathe easier. I could speak clearer and my brain didn't feel as though it was made of cotton. I sent my Mom out to the health food store to pick up some fragrance free, organic shampoo. It was all uphill from there, and it was the beginning of a new life, one in which I've come to love. I still cannot leave my house much, because of others' choices to invest in synthetic, fragranced products. I know it isn't entirely their fault, because most are unaware of the magnitude of the effect that chemicals have on their bodies. Unless their body shouts it at them, like mine did. While I may not be well enough and strong enough to venture back out into the world again, I do have my own little version of my world within my own home, and my little circle of organically fabulous fragrance free friends. Because I went natural, I am now happy to report that my body can handle treatment for my disease much and the toxicity that goes along with it, because I am not further poisoning my body with what I choose to put in it and on it. In fact, my love for all things organic and natural has sparked a journey on an alternative path to health, and I am now treating my disease entirely holistically. So, thank you, Desert Essence, for making it possible to live a natural lifestyle with a bit more ease. You may not be aware of how deeply it has impacted the qualify of life of those like myself. Your "fragrance free" line specifically is amazing. It is entirely suitable for those of us who are battling disease, such as those fighting cancer, lyme Disease, Cystic Fibrosis or MS. It's a beautifully clean line that's guaranteed to be easy on both the nose and the entire body that belongs to it. Thank you, for making our battles just a bit easier! If I could, I would buy a bottle for every single chronically sick patient out there. I wish everyone could be enlightened by the power of going organic.

I started using Desert Essence after asking my niece (Christmas 2010) what she used, because her complexion looked clean and healthy. She had the look I wanted. I was hopeful after she told me what it was, because I had the desire to go natural. I watch what I put into my body, so I wanted to be more careful about what I put on it. I researched, did some comparing, and decided to go with the Thoroughly Clean Face Wash my niece recommended and had received such good results from. I received compliments right away. I had used it for three days! People said my skin was radiant or glowing like a pregnant woman. That pleased me, because my goal was to somehow get the radiance from the inside to exude on the outside. They thought it was my makeup or that I had good skin, but it was the Desert Essence results they were seeing. My biggest jolt was when I started getting compliments from a variety of people (women, men, old, young, and even critics). Now, I regularly use the face wash, oil control lotion, and blemish stick (as needed). However, I still wanted to be sure that it was the best choice, so I conducted a face test. I used Desert Essence on one side and my expensive department store brand on the other. Without telling them what I did, I asked family to tell me which side looked best and why. Everyone picked the Desert Essence face. Why? Because it just looks better! Comments from the exhaustive vocabulary of the male judges! The women say my skin looks brighter, more radiant, and cleaner. I noticed that it’s softer and smoother too. Goal achieved! I made the switch (am saving money too). I switched shampoos. When I decided to start using natural shampoos I had a hard time finding one that lathered and rinsed clean. My hair gets oily, but many of the shampoos for oily hair dry my scalp. The desert essence lemon tea tree shampoo and conditioner solved both problems. After years of searching I finally found a natural hair care line that smells great and really leaves my hair feeling clean and soft. I'm hooked.

The Age Reversal Line of Dessert Essence products have been the only skin care products that I have used for nearly two years. After becoming pregnant four years ago I really began to think about the things I consume and the skin care products my body absorbs. I read a great review of the Pomegranate Eye serum and decided to give the whole line a try. I could not go a day without the Facial Serum and after reading about the dangers of most common sunscreens, I was thrilled to find the Age Reversal Mineral Sunscreen which I use on myself and my two children!

Love your toothpastes especially the neem and fennel varieties! I found they work much more gently yet are still effective compared to the big company brands. I always have intensely dry lips, and I joke that because I have large lips, it's hard to keep them moisturized. I have literally "eaten" all types of lip balm, lip glosses, you name it, I have eaten it. I have tried all kinds of lip balms, even Burt's Bees, because I am into natural products. Nothing worked, until I went to The Natural Way, and I stumbled across this product, Desert Essence Lip Rescue Ultra Hydrating, and I thought, well here is another one, hope it tastes good. I buy flavored balms because I end up licking my lips, and I prefer something that tastes pleasant. Wow, after two days, my lips were no longer dry. I put it on once in the morning, and I was good all day. This from a chick who would eat lip gloss or lip balm, 10-12 times a day. I was hooked. I ran out, of course, and a friend loaned me an Avon lip balm, and this was just the other day. After one day, my lips began itching, which I scratched, and pretty soon they started weeping a clear liquid. By the next morning, my lips were Angelina Jolie size, only totally encrusted and cracked, so not sexy. Today I rushed to the natural store and found the Desert Essence Therapeutic rescue and began using it. I hope it works to restore my lips back to their natural look soon. I swear I will never run out again!

Desert Essence has been a true blessing to my family!! My son is on the autism spectrum and as a result is on a gluten/casein free diet. With the diet we have seen remarkable results. I LOVE the unscented product line for my child due to his sensory issues. Your products are affordable, natural, gluten free, paraben free, and work fabulously! I've made the switch over the years since learning of toxins in my Biology courses in college (I feel this was the most valuable learning experience I had in college, it opened my eyes and curiousity to research and be my own advocate). Basically there is EVERY reason to, and no reason not to!

I've always had an interest in natural products, but I really got serious about it when I had cancer three years ago. Nobody (including my doctor) seems to know what caused my illness, but I will always wonder if I exposed myself to some harmful chemical through the skin care products that I used over the years. I am now cancer free, thankfully, and I aim to keep it that way, starting with using only organic products from companies that I can trust. I've been using the Thoroughly Clean Face Wash for quite a long time, and find that it is the only thing that works for me consistently, keeping my skin soft and clean, and completely free of any blemishes. Please, oh please, don't ever change that formula! =0) Recently, I "discovered" your Shea Butter Shampoo and Conditioner, and the Coconut Body Wash... oh my gosh, it's like taking a little tropical vacation every morning in the shower. Even my husband appreciates it, as he says the whole bathroom smells so good after I'm done. A little Coconut Hand and Body Lotion, and I'm carrying that yummy tropical scent with me all day! Clear, Beautiful Skin The Thoroughly Clean Face Wash-Original, Thoroughly Clean Oil Control and Blemish Touch Stick Lotion have saved my face!! For years I have tried and tried many products to control my blemishes and keep my skin clear and oil free-NOTHING has worked, they all failed me (not to mention the $$ I’ve spend). I finally have settle down with your line. My skin is clear and the products feels great on the skin. I have never felt the way I feel to bare my skin. I starting using Desert Essence Tea Tree Oil on my sons head. He has severe excema and I didn't like the idea of all of the steroid creams and other things that were being prescribed for him. He's at the age now where he wants to keep his hair long and we have always had to keep it very short or else his excema will flare up on his head. It looks like infant cradle cap and huge chunks of skin will flake off taking his hair with it. It's awful! Well, a friend introduced me to tea tree oil, we run a swipe on any problem areas with a cotton ball and use the tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner also from DE and My sons hair is not only long, but shiny and beautiful! I've had other mothers ask me what products he uses because their sons INSIST on having long hair, but that doesn't mean it has to look dirty and gross. My boy has hair that my adult female friends envy! and it smells like heaven. I also started using the DE tea tree oil face wash and moisturizer. My teenaged son and daughter kept stealing it, so I had to buy them their own sets. My teen son has acne and this is part of his skin care regimen now. His dermatologist does not endorse any products but is extremely impressed with how well this product is working. And since he is Vegan and promotes the Vegan way of life, he was extremely fond of the techniques of DE to produce a well made product that is non harmful to the environment, he still doesn't endorse any products but if anyone asks he is happy to refer them to me (we live in a small community). I love DE face wash because it feels like I'm washing my face with Silk! I started using this about a year ago and have been getting so many compliments on my skin and complexion..something I never had and I had acne as a youth. Now I have the skin I've always wanted and my family is in love with products from a company that supports the same values that we try to promote. DE makes caring for myself, my family and my environment beautiful!

My favorite Desert Essence product is the Organic Vanilla Chai Hand Wash. This stuff smells great and it leaves my hands feeling moisturized (unlike many other hand soaps that leave your hands feeling dried out). I look for products that are organic because I don't believe in putting chemicals on my skin or into the environment. Also, since I'm vegan, I look for products that have not been tested on animals and contain no animal ingredients. Since I've switched to using natural products, I've had positive feelings about who/what I'm supporting. Also, I know that I'm reducing my carbon footprint, which is very important to me.

The reason I switched to Desert Essence products is because my daughter has Psoriosis of the scalp and body. I had heard that Tea Tree products help control and heal flare ups! My sister in law purchased her, the Therapeutic Tea Tree Replenishing Shampoo and Conditioner. Three days later her spots on her head have healed over 50% and we use the Castle soap for bubble bath and her psoriosis on her body has almost disapeared. I am so pleased that I no longer have to use costly steriod creams and medication on my daughter and I can use something that is healthy and more cost effective.

My neighbor gave me the Desertessence Exfoliating Shea Butter Body Scrub and the Nourishing Body Oil. I have been using them for the past 2 weeks and my skin has done a hundred percent improvement. It is now soft and not dry and scaling like before. I just love my new products and I highly recommend them.

How Desert Essence Changed Two Lives I have suffered from acne since age eleven, and have grown accustomed to experimenting with new products several times per year, applying creams, gels, foams and scrubs with crossed fingers, only to be disappointed. My search ended just a few months ago, when I discovered Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean facial cleanser. As a 31 year old student, wife and mother of two, I don't have time or money for costly and complex skin care regimens, so this product was a true miracle for me. My skin is fresh, clear, soft and healthy, for the first time in twenty years. That, however, is not why I have entered this contest. My four-year-old niece, Lexus Nykole, was diagnosed last year with Plaque Psoriasis, caused by the treatment of Scarlet Fever. This beautiful little girl was stricken with horrible white plaques all over her body, which traditional medical treatments did not begin to heal. She was shunned by the other children, and even their parents, at her preschool, who were convinced it was contagious. She began to withdraw, and cried regularly because she did not feel she was pretty anymore. Our family was very distressed and concerned for her self esteem, as this was a condition she will have for her entire life. Any use of chemicals, artificial fragrances or colors will exacerbate her condition. Even hypoallergenic products produced more plaques and more heartache. After doing some research, I found that Tea Tree oil was a natural remedy for Psoriasis, and ordered Desert Essence Therapeutic Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner, plus a large bottle of your liquid Castile Soap (so she can have bubble baths again) for her Easter present. This morning, after only five days of use, I received an email message and photo from my sister in law, showing that all of the white plaques have vanished from Lexus' skin, not only on her scalp, but her face, neck and chest as well. In addition, the red lesions beneath are fading fast. When I spoke to her this morning she told me, "Auntie, my spots are away. I want to use this stuff forever and ever." Gone are the days of dry ichy skin from chemical laden soaps, since discovering Desert Essence Catile Liquid Soap. I use it for everything but washing dishes! There is a small bottle at every sink in the house and it's my only body scrub and bubble bath. I also use the lotions, shampoo and conditioners available from Desert Essence. I've yet to find one of their products that I didn't like.

frizz before, wavy now While growing up, I have heard constantly that smoking and second had smoking is harmful to our bodies. Yet I have never heard anyone cautioning me about using shampoo, conditioner or body lotions. As a high school senior taking AP Environmental Science, I became more aware about the products we use daily. After learning the chapter of toxicology, I immediately rushed home to check the bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotions to see if the harmful chemicals that I had learned about were in the list of ingredients. It was shocking to see that the daily shampoo I was using and lotions had them in their list. I panicked. I quickly told me sister, who was away in college, about the chemicals and to watch out for them. And it seemed almost like fate when she told me about an organic fair at school and how she got sample shampoos from a company called dessert essence. Searching through the ingredients, we realized that the company had made it easy for us. There was a list of excluded harmful chemicals below the list of ingredients and it listed the chemicals I was wary of. Literally it seemed like fate. After purchasing bottles of shampoo and conditioner (the coconut shampoo and conditioner, italian red grape shampoo and conditioner, and the apple and ginger shampoo), fragrance free body lotion, and the age reversal mineral sunscreen, I distributed the shampoo to my aunt's family, placed one in my bath tub and finally felt at ease that my family will be safe. Not only was it great that I found a brand that would keep harm out of our daily lives, but also I felt great after seeing all the environmentally friendly labels on the back of the products. The last great impression I got, the whipped cream with the cherry on top was that my hair, which used to be a long dry frizzy mess, became smooth, wavy, and lovable! I could never blow dry my hair because it would become a complete frizz ball, but now I can do whatever I want with it and it feels AMAZING! By just using the coconut shampoo and coconut conditioner, my hair felt different from the first day on and kept becoming smoother and smoother. It was such a great experience to become more aware of my surroundings and to be able to find such great products. I cannot wait to buy the travel kits as gifts for all of my friends and family.
